The Van is located at the very start of the West Highland Way in the centre of Milngavie village (approx. 3 mins walk from the railway station).

Arriving By Train:

From Glasgow at Queen Street lower level/ Central Station lower level get the Milngavie train if there are no direct trains to Milngavie change at Partick you wont have to wait long.  The train will bring you into Milngavie train station, note this is not the start of the West Highland Way.  From there continue through the underpass towards the centre of the village precinct where you will find the marble obelisk marking the start of the West Highland Way.  The van is located underneath the West Highland Way sign. Arriving By Bus:

From Glasgow at Buchanan bus station get the 119 bus to Baljaffray and ask the driver to let you off at Park Road in Milngavie .  From the bus stop cross the road to the post office, walk through the village precinct past the clock towards the marble obelisk marking the start of the West Highland Way.  The van is located underneath the West Highland Way sign.

Arriving By Car:

From Glasgow follow the A81 for 5.2miles continuing through 2 roundabouts to Milngavie.  At the 3rd roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Main Street/B8030 and after 0.5miles turn left at the traffic lights onto Ellangowan Road.  After going under the bridge turn left then immediately turn left again into Riverside car park.

Arriving By Plane:

Glasgow Airport:

Don’t use the taxi’s that sit outside the front of the airport they are expensive and don’t know where the start of the West Highland Way is.

Ambassador taxis are a local company, they will collect you from the airport and take you to the Riverside Car Park to the Travel Lite van at the start of the West Highland Way.  Phone +44 (0)141 956 1414 to book.  Phone before you fly and give your flight number to arrange a taxi to be waiting for when you arrive at Glasgow airport.

Prestwick Airport:

Take a train from the airport station to Glasgow Central from there transfer to Central Station Lower level and take the train to Milngavie.  If there are no direct trains to Milngavie change at Partick Station you won’t have to wait long.
