West Highland Way - Travel-Lite

Kinlochleven to Fort William - 14 miles (10.5 km)

On the West Highland Way, the track up to the Lairig Mor is another steep and rocky one which after a mile or so, joins Caulfield's military road. This is a good track but very exposed. In the long haul to Fort William, and in bad weather this stretch can be very miserable.

Ahead of you to the left, is the towering cone of Beinn na caillich - the Old Woman's Mountain, and on the other side of Loch Leven, the Pap of Glencoe.

About halfway to Fort William you will see to the left, the waters of Loch Lunn da Bhra - Lundavra - and a little further on the Highland Way parts company with the military road, to cross over into the Glen Nevis. The walker may prefer to follow the road down into Fort William, which is an attractive route, but the Glen Nevis section is spectacular.

As you descend and walk down to Fort William you eventually reach a road which leads you to the outskirts of Fort William. You will want to stop at the sign that defines the end of the 'West Highland Way'.

Congratulations you have finished the 95 miles walk!
